Crown Park Golf Club
Crown Park Golf Club offers 18 holes of championship golf. The lush, rolling fairways are lined with mature pines, and water comes into play on several holes. The large, undulating greens are expertly contoured and challenging to putt. The golf course is secluded, and there are no homes lining the fairways, a rarity in the Myrtle Beach area.
Located off Highway 9, Crown Park is known as one of the Myrtle Beach area’s “best kept secrets.” The golf course is not overly punishing thus making Crown Park an especially attractive option for the first round of one’s trip. It is a par-72 golf course, with the standard configuration of ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s.
With two of its par 5s playing less than 500 yards from the back tees, there are opportunities for golfers to bag a rare eagle or two-putt birdie. One of these is the 483-yard 11th, which plays mostly straightaway before veering to the right up by the green. A well-struck tee shot down the left hand side of the fairway will yield an opportunity go for the green in two, just stay out of the well-placed, amoeba-shaped bunkers guarding the green.
Crown Park’s facilities are well-appointed, with an expansive grass driving range and a spacious putting and chipping green, as well as a practice greenside bunker.
