Sea Island Maples

Sea Trail Maples Golf Course

The Maples course is one of three at the Sea Trail Resort. These courses have hosted the PGA Tour’s Carolina Open and the Carolina Pro Am. Each golf course is named after the person who designed it. In this case, it is Dan Maples.

The Sea Trail Maples golf course is shorter than most 18 hole courses measuring 6,384 yards from the tips. But don’t let the length fool you as the greens are undulating and medium-sized. Water hazards (lakes) can come into play on ten holes. The signature hole is #7, a 410-yard, par 4, requiring shots past trees and over water. “Golf Digest” nominated the Maples golf course as one of the most outstanding new resort golf courses in the country for 1986.
