Despite the loss of the BMW Championship to Keegan Bradley, Justin Rose ascended to the Official World Golf Ranking’s #1 spot. Bradley got his 4th PGA Tour win (and first since 2012) when he made his par putt on the first playoff hole and Rose missed his short par putt.

Capt Furyk filled his last spot on the US Ryder Cup team with the pick of Tony Finau. Capt Bjorn also filled in his last 4 spots on the European Ryder Cup team with the addition of Sergio Garcia, Paul Casey, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.

On the European Tour, Matthew Fitzpatrick took the Omega European Masters title when he birdied the first playoff hole to beat Lucas Bjerregaard. This was Fitzpatrick’s 5th European Tour win.
