With only 42 of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Rankings taking the week off prior to the Masters, it was time for many other golfers to make some money at the Valero Texas Open. That is exactly what JJ Spaun did for his first tour victory. He finished a -13 for a 2 stroke win over Matt Jones and Matt Kuchar. With the win, Spaun gets to play in this week’s Masters Tournament.

One last jump into Poppie’s Pond occurred this weekend. Jennifer Kupcho earned that last jump with a 2 stroke win over Jessica Korda despite posting a finishing 74. The event which many refer to as ‘the Dinah’ has seen its last time as the Chevron Championship at Rancho Mirage. Chevron, the event sponsor, want the event to be held in Houston next year at their headquarters.
