Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals that is at the Olympics. After surviving a barrage of genuflecting by many about the Olympic games in Rio – the first golf competition in over a century, the cream rose to the top with Justin Rose getting the gold, Henrik Stenson getting the silver and Matt Kucher getting the bronze. The last round really came down to a dual between Rose and Stenson and it wasn’t settled until the last hole. Rose got up and down for a birdie on the par 5. Stenson’s short game failed him and he ended up with a bogie. Kuchar shot a 63 on Sunday to jump into the 3rd place finish.
Back on the mainland, Ryan Moore finished the John Deere Classic with a 2 stroke victory over Ben Martin.
The US Senior Open suffered through torrential rain and ended up with a Monday finish. Gene Sauer emerged victorious with a 1 stroke margin over Billy Mayfair and Miguel Angel Jimenez.
Staying cool and calm on the last hole, Mackensie Hughes posted his first victory at the Web.com Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Classic. He beat Richy Werenski by 1 stroke.
Chariss Guce won for the 2nd time on the Symentra Tour this year with the victory at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic.
