“Long Live the King.”  The golf world is in mourning today after the passing of Arnold Palmer yesterday at the age of 87. Much will be said over the coming days about Arnie, his accomplishments on and off the courses and his head-to-head competitions with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. His wins cover a 33 year period from the 1955 Canadian Open to the 1988 Crestar Classic.

He has been referred to as a beloved icon and one of the world’s greatest sportsmen. I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago and he was gracious and courteous to those that came up to him. He knew the importance of treating everyone in the same friendly light. He will be missed but will live on in our memories forever.
