Ricky Fowler soared his tee shot on the relatively short 17th at the Phoenix Open not once by twice on Sunday which proved to be his undoing. Hideki Matsuyama battled him through 4 extra holes to come out on top with a par once Fowler found the water. This was the 23 year old Matsuyama’s 2nd PGA Tour victory. He’s been close a number of times but his putter was always his undoing. Well, that wasn’t the case yesterday as he dropped several key putts on his way to the victory.

Don’t feel too bad for Fowler. Over the last 16 events he has played (and made 14 cuts), he’s been able to pocket over $4.8 million.

LPGA Tour – Nasty weather didn’t stop Ha Na Jong. After 4 runner up finishes in her rookie year, she put all that behind her with the victory at the Coates Golf Championship.

Euro Tour – Danny Willett notched his 4th Euro tour victory by taking the Dubai Desert Classic. He bested Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Andy Sullivan by a stroke.

Champions Tour – It took 3 extra holes but Estaben Toledo came on on top at the Allianz Championship. He beat Billy Andrade for his 4th Seniors title.

Web.com Tour – The tour was down in Bogota Columbia this past week where hometowner Sebastian Munoz edged Matt Atkins and Richy Werenski by 1 stroke for the victory.

Shhhhhh !!!! – Ever wonder why we have to be quiet and stand still when a pro golfer is preparing to hit a ball? Yes, many times you see a reaction and bad shot by the pro when someone makes a noise or moves.  Why then is the 16th at the Pheonix Open such a hit and the golfers don’t seem to be concerned with the noise? Do they not concentrate? Do they not seem bothered by the boo’s? I’m just saying ……
