Brooks Koepka showed that he is not only in great shape physically but mentally as well coming down the stretch on Sunday. With the wind howling and his lead dwindling down from 7 to 1 stroke with 4 straight bogies and Dustin Johnson making birdies, he didn’t lose his focus. He won the PGA Championship over Dustin Johnson by 2 strokes with a wire-to-wire effort. Koepka has now won 4 Majors in the last 23 months.

With the win came several firsts:

~ Koepka set the lowest 36 hole score (128) in Major history.

~ Koepka became the first player to hold back-to-back Majors for 2 Majors at the same time.

~ Koepka ascended to #1 in the OWGR.

At the Second annual U.S. Senior Women’s Open, Helen Alfredsson took home the victory. She finished 1 over at the Pine Needles track in Southern Pines NC. She ended up 2 strokes ahead of Trish Johnson (her co-leader after 54 holes) as well as Juli Inkster.
