47 year old Stewart Cink took it to the young guns at the RBC Heritage. He posted a course record for 36 holes by shooting 63-63 to open the event. From there he went wire-to-wire to earn his third Plaid Jacket. While just plodding around the course on Saturday and Sunday, no one could mount a challenge. Cink became the 4th tour player to win at age 47 or older to twice in the same season (Safeway Open in September was the other). The other three were Sam Snead, Julius Boros and Kenny Perry.
Lydia Ko posted a tournament record 28 under to win the Lotte Championship by 7 strokes. It may be hard to believe but Ko has 14 wins in her firsts 81 starts and this was the first win in 3 years for the near to be 24 year old.
American John Catlin won the European Tour’s Austrian Golf Open in a 5 hole playoff with Maximillian Kieffer. This was Catlin’s 3rd European Tour victory.
