By winning the AT&T Byron Nelson, Sergio Garcia has tied Seve Ballesteros with the most PGA Tour wins (9) by a Spanish-born player.  He did so by beating Brooks Koepka and the first hole of a playoff with a par. Koepka put his drive in the water and missed badly with his 3rd shot. Koepka had a 3 stroke lead going into the final 9 holes only to see the lead disappear with 2 boogies and a birdie by Garcia.

On the European front, not even a hail storm could keep Rory McIlroy from finally winning his home country’s national tournament – the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. The final round took 6 hours 15 minutes to play. McIlroy sealed the deal with a tap-in eagle on the last hole to beat Bradley Dredge and Russell Knox by 3 strokes.

The LPGA Tour had another consecutive event winner: Ariya Jutanuguan followed up her Yokohama Tire event win with the title at the Kingsmill Championship.

The Champions Tour had its first Major – Regents Tradition – and a familiar name came out on top again. Bernhard Langer posted a 6 stroke victory over Olin Browne.

Web.com: BMW Charity Pro-AM was won by Richy Werenski.

Symetra: Gosling’s Dark ‘n Stormy Classic was won by Laura Wearn.
