The Colonial down in Fort Worth Texas was truly soggy but that didn’t stop Chris Kirk from posting a 1 stroke victory over Brandt Snedeker, Jordan Spieth and Jason Bohn. Kirk was a little shaky with an errant tee shot on 18 but was able to drop in a 7 foot par putt to avoid a 4 man playoff.

Champions Tour: The Senior PGA Championship was successfully defended by Colin Montgomerie who posted a 4 stroke victory. It was Monte’s 3rd win in his last 6 events on the Senior Tour.

European Tour: The flogship event at Wentworth – The BMW PGA Championship – turned into a runaway on Sunday as Byeong-Huh An shot a 7 under 65 to win by 6 strokes over Miguel Angel Jimenez and Thongchai Jaidee.

Ladies Euro Tour: Melissa (Mel) Reid when wire to wire to win the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. The event was played last week (Sunday to Wednesday) and was shown on the Golf Channel. It was nice to watch competitive golf during the early part of the week for a change.

The LPGA and Web tours had the week off.
