Ex-naval officer Billy Hurley III finally got the job done at the Quicken Loans National at Congressional Country Club. He posted a 3 stroke victory over Vijay Singh. With the win, Hurley has now qualified for next month’s Open at Royal Troon along with John Rahm, Singh and Harold Varner III.
Lydia Ko came off of a playoff loss 2 weeks ago to put on a clinic at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship. She won by 3 strokes over Morgan Pressel and Candie Kung.
Despite dealing with some nagging injuries that caused Henrik Stenson to pull out of the US Open during the 2nd round a couple of weeks ago, he was able to take the title at the BMW International in Germany for his first victory since late in 2014. His win over Darren Fichardt and Thorbjarn Olesen was his 10th victory.
Ollie Schniederjans got his first professional win at the Web.com’s Air Capital Classic in Wisconsin.
