An up and down on the 17th hole from the rocks at PGA West allowed Jason Dufner to make par and tie David Lingmerth for the lead (-25) after 72 holes at the CareerBuilder Challenge. It took Dufner two playoff holes to put Lingmerth away to win the championship. Lingmerth saw his chances bounce away as his approach shot to 18 hooked instead of sliced into the rocks and then bound into the water.

The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship was a star laced event with Ricky Fowler stepping up to win his 2nd European Tour event. He posted a -16 to beat up-and-comer Thomas Pieters by  1 stroke and 2 strokes ahead of Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson. With the win, it appears that he has garnered enough points to slide into 4th place in the Official World Golf Rankings.
