Now that is the way to start off the 2022 leg of the PGA Tour wrap-around season !!! Cameron Smith shot a record-setting 34 under 258 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions. He went wire to wire on the lead (or tied with Jon Rahm on Saturday for the lead). This was the lowest score to par 72 for a 4 round event since 1950. He beat Rahm by one stroke and Matt Jones by two strokes. Both Rahm and Jones set the course record of 61 on Saturday and Sunday respectively but it wasn’t enough to overcome Smith’s two 65 and two 64 rounds.

Smith also became only the 6th tour player to win both Hawaii events on tour. The other five were Jim Furyk, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, Zack Johnson and Justin Thomas.
