Lydia Ko became the youngest (age 17) to be ranked #1 in World Golf Rankings for any professional golf tour. She reached that pinnacle with her 2nd place finish this past weekend. She holds the top spot by a mere 3/100ths of a point over Inbee Park. Both she, Park and #3 Stacy Lewis are in the field this coming week at the Bahamas Classic so her hold on the top spot could vanish quickly.
PGA Tour: Brooks Koepka took home the winner’s check at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He closed with a 5 under 66 to post a 1 stroke win. Key to his first PGA Tour victory was the eagle on the par 5 15th hole which gave him a share of the lead. From there, he played steady and let the rest of the leaderboard faulter down the stretch.
Euro Tour: The Dubai Desert Classic became a walk in the part (I mean desert) for Rory McIlroy. He entered the weekend with a 4 stroke lead and never looked back as he posted a tournament record-tying score of 22 under.
