Competing outside of Japan for the first time, Hinako Shibuno was hoping to just make the cut for her first LPGA event.  She did a bit better by draining an 18 foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to win the AIG Women’s British Open to beat Lizette Salas by 1 stroke.

Another first time winner on the PGA Tour occurred at the Wyndham Championship. After turning pro in 2015, J.T. Poston finally got his first win by coming from 3 strokes behind to beat Webb Simpson by a stroke.
