Brittany Lincicome eagled the par 5 18th hole to get into a playoff with Stacey Lewis at the ANA Inspiration (LPGA’s first Major of the year). Lewis had a chance to win in regulation but missed her birdie attempt. Lincicome went on to win the playoff after 4 holes. She then jumped into Poppy’s Pond for the 2nd time in her career. She now has 6 career LPGA Tour victories. Lewis seems to be a bit snaked bit as she has been in contention in virtually all of her events this year but just can’t get into the winner’s circle. She had three chances to win this event but missed birdie putts on the 18th not only in regulation but twice during the playoff.

PGA Tour: Preceding the Ladies event, the Shell Houston Open also went into extra holes. JB Holmes posted an -16 about 2 hours before the last group finished up. Johnson Wagner birdied the 18th (only 1 of 3 birdies on the 18th all day) to tie Holmes. He was playing in the next to last grouping. Then Jordan Spieth in the last group got his par on 18 to also join the playoff. Both Holmes and Wagner posted pars on the first playoff hole while Spieth failed to get his lengthy par put to drop after being bothered by a camera during his third shot which then came up woefully short. The playoff ending on the next hole as Wagner’s attempt on a short par putt lipped out giving Holmes the victory.
