The owner of Caddy Girls, an all-female caddying service based in Myrtle Beach, was on the “Shark Tank” this past Friday evening pitching a 20% investment in the company for a $100 investment. The end result was no bites by the Sharks. There was a nibble of interest for a 50% stake which was quickly turned down. The Caddy Girls was started in 2005 by students at Coastal Carolina University and the business has expanded to about 12 locations throughout the U.S. Caddy services include driving the cart, keeping score, tending the pin, raking sand traps, and reading the green.
PGA Tour: the wraparound season of 2014-2015 is now in full swing. Week One was the Frys.com event won by Sang Moon Bae. This past weekend had Ben Martin winning the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open by 2 strokes over Kevin Streelman and Russell Knox.
LPGA Tour: Kyn-Jung Baek won a playoff over In Gee Chun and Brittany Lincicome to win the LPGA KEB HansBank Championship. The prior week’s event – LPGA Malaysia Open was won by Shanshan Feng for her 4th tour victory.
Champions Tour: Kirk Triplett has his game going. He won the SAS Championship two weeks ago and finished in a tie for 2nd with Joe Durant 2 strokes behind Jay Haas this past weekend at the Greater Hickory Kia Classic.
