I don’t know how the Ladies playing the Evian Championship were able to focus on golf with the breathtaking views of the Alps along the French side of Lake Geneva. Purely outstanding.

Anyway, after 18 years on tour, Angela Stanford finally got her first Major win at the Evian. Some will say she backed in but a win is a win. The 54 hole leader Amy Olson playing in the final group smothered her tee shot on the 18th hole and finished with a double bogey to hand the win to Stanford.

The European Tour was in the Netherlands where Wu Ashun won the KLM Open by a stroke over Chris Wood.  This was Ashun’s third Euro Tour victory.
