Of the 64 golfers who were seeded in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, only 1 of the top 24 seeds (Jon Rahm at #3) made it through to the field of 16. The Sunday morning semi-finals saw Scottie Scheffler battle it out with Matt Kuchar and Billy Horschel taking on Victor Perez with Scheffler and Horschel victorious. I don’t know if it was a matter of the 7th match in 5 days but neither Horschel or Scheffler had his “A” game for the Sunday afternoon final. Of the 17 holes that were played each only had one birdie through the 17 holes and neither was a result of a putt. Horschel chipped in on the 2nd hole and Scheffler was conceded a long putt as Horschel was already out of the whole. From the 4th hole on, it was primarily par golf with Scheffler making a few unforced mistakes allowing Horschell to win 2 and 1.

On the parallel PGA Tour event being played at Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship. Joel Dahmen held off Rafael Campos and Sam Ryder by a stroke for the win. Dahmen came into the event pretty much off game having only made 1 cut out of seven of his last eight events.

The LPGA pros were in Calefornia playing the Kia Classic. where Inbee Park went wire to wire for a 5 stroke win in her first start of the 2021 calendar year.

Daniel van Tender got his first European Tour victory at the Kenya Savannah Classic with a birdie on the 3rd playoff hole to beat Jazz Janewattanond.
