Sometimes dreams do come true. Max Homa grew up about 25 miles from the Riviera Country Club. It was his favorite golf event to watch seeing all the greats play including his idol Tiger Woods. He won the Genesis Invitational in a 2 hole playoff against Tony Finau. So now his dream as come true to win at Riviera and to have Tiger Woods present him the trophy.

It wasn’t an easy win as he had to come off the pace on Sunday. He had a chance to win the event outright on the 18th hole as he nailed his fairway shot to a little over 3 feet from the pin. He missed the putt thus forcing a playoff with Finau. He scrambled for a par on the first playoff hole after his tee shot came to rest along a tree trunk and he had to punch out. Finau also missed his birdie putt so on to the 2nd ployoff hole. Homa missed his birdie putt but Finau missed his part putt.

This was Homa’s 2nd Tour victory.
