Sepp Straka with his win at the Honda Classic became the first Austrian to win on the tour in its history. His first tour victory came at PGA National. He won by 1 stroke over Shane Lowery. Straka started Sunday 5 strokes behind Daniel Berger. While holding the lead for the first 3 days in comfortable fashion, Berger’s putter did him no favors on Sunday as he never made a putt when needed. He fell back and both Straka and Lowery took advantage. Lowery took over the lead going into the last few holes. However, Straka birdied 3 of the last 5 holes to take the lead with a birdie on 18. Lowery played in the group behind Straka. Unfortunately for Lowery, a rainstorm cell developed over the course and a downpour occurred as he reached 18. Playing the par 5 18, Lowery only needed to birdie the reachable green in two but a errant tee shot forced him to lay up. His 3rd shot to the green was way to far back to have a decent look at birdie. His putt came up short and Straka was the winner.
