Wild Wing Golf Course

The 18 hole course at Wild Wing is called Avocet. It has elevated tee boxes and greens, double fairways, grass bunkers, and even a double-tiered green. Hole #14, a 308-yard, par 4, was voted one of “The Best 18 Holes You Can Play” by “Golf Digest” in 1997. On this hole, the green can be reached from the tee for most players, but mounds and bunkers have been thrown in to snare any errant drives. Water hazards come into play on several holes on this golf course. “Golf Digest” rated Avocet as the 17th “Best in State” golf course for 1995-96.

For those golfers who want to play 27 holes, there is a 9 hole course that can be added: Wild Wing 9. You will certainly feel challenged on this nine-hole layout. Even the most skilled of golfers have remarked that they found themselves in tough situations where they had to truly plan out their shots beforehand. There’s plenty of flavor and flair within the layout. The layout is made up of one par 5, five par 4s and three par 3s. From the tips you will be challenged with holes measuring from 190 yards to 528 yards. The course is situated on a beautiful stretch of Carolina Low Country wetlands. If you’re planning on playing the Hummingbird, make sure to bring power and precision.
