Scott Piercy seemed in control of the 3M Open haven been in the lead for the first 3 rounds and with a 4 stroke lead starting on the 4th round. He maintained a healthy lead going into the back nine and then the wheels came off. He posted a back nine 41 which included a triple bogie at the par 4 14th hole. Meanwhile, eventually winner Tony Finau who started the day 5 strokes back birdied 14, 15 and 16. He finished 17 under and 3 strokes ahead of 2nd place finishers Sungjae Im and Emiliano Grillo. This was Finau’s 3rd tour victory (Puerto Rico open in 2016 and Northern Trust last year).

The LPGA held a major in France at the Amundi Evian Championship. Brooke Henderson dropped a birdie on the last hole to win her 2nd Major (her first being 6 years ago at the Women’s PGA Championship.
