The first event of the Fedex Cup playoffs was the Barclays and was held at the Plainfield Country Club in Edison NJ. Jason Day ran away with the title after posting a -19 to best Henrik Stenson by 6 strokes. Day continued to play his best golf by shooting 63-62 over the weekend.
After the Barclays, the field has been narrowed to 100 golfers for next week’s event.
Little lefty Brian Harman never had an ace on the PGA Tour until Sunday. He got his first on the 3rd hole after a bogie on both the 1st and 2nd holes. But wait, he wasn’t done. On the par 3 14th hole, he hit his tee shot to the front fringe, saw it bounce a couple of times and then roll straight into the hole for his 2nd ace of the day.
The LPGA was in Prattville AL for the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic. By posting a 65 on Sunday, Kris Tamulis won her first LPGA tour event by 1 stroke over Austin Ernst and Yani Tseng. It took Kris 186 events to find the winner’s circle.
