The 2nd event on the PGA Tour’s wraparound season has seen another rookie take the trophy. This time it was Smylie Kaufman who posted a 61 on Sunday (included a 20′ birdie on 18) to end up 16 under at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Not one of the 6 runner-ups could mount the appropriate challange. It must be nice to win $1.1+ million so early in the season.

On the LPGA Tour, Lydia Ko blew away the field by posting 20 under to win by 9 strokes over So Yeon Ryu and Eun-Hee Ji at the Fubon Taiwan Championship in Taipei.

Justin Rose held off Patrick Reed, Matt Fitzpatrick and Lucas Bjerregaard to win the European Tour’s Hong Kong Open.
