Bryson DeChambeau became only the second player ever to win the first two FEDEX Cup playoff events. Only Vijay Singh did it before in 2008 (and he went on to win the Cup). With the win at the Dell Technologies Championship, DeChambeau solidified his position as the top ranked points leader going into the final at East Lake three weeks from now. It will be hard to imagine Captain Furyk not adding DeChambeau as a Captain’s pick to the Ryder Cup team after his third victory of the year and his current dominating form.
Matt Wallace continued his emergence on the European Tour with a playoff win at the “Made In Denmark” event. He beat Lee Westwood, Steven Brown and Jonathan Thomson for the win.
At the LPGA’s Cambia Portland Classic, Marina Alex got her first tour victory by shooting a 65 on Sunday to come from 6 stokes off the lead to beat Georgia Hall by 4 strokes.
Ryder Cup Musings: What I would like to see on the last day is a pairing of Jordan Spieth vs Tyrell Hatton with both of them mic’d up. Can you imagine the banter that will go on during the competition as they talk to themselves and to the ball.
