Right now, Adam Scott is “the man” on the PGA Tour having won back-to-back events.  The WGC Cadillac Championship at Doral was the venue for his most recent victory. Despite a sand trap shank on the 16th hole and a truly remarkable break where his ball hung up in the deep grass just inside the hazard line on the 18th, he was able to hang on for a 1 stroke victory.

After the first 3 holes on Sunday, Rory McIlroy held a 4 stroke lead but couldn’t add to it as he didn’t get a birdie until the 16th hole and he lost by 2 strokes. The back 9 was pretty much a disaster for Dustin Johnson. Coming into Sunday, he was 3 strokes off the lead. Then the wheels fell off on the back 9 where he went 7 over and dropped like a rock off of the leader board.

Danny Willett was only a stroke off the lead when he reached the 18th tee. He then dumped his tee shot into the lake to lose all hope catching Scott.  Bubba Watson was right up there as well but couldn’t get it done. This is his third runner up finish at this event in the last five years.
