It’s the Women’s US Open. Let’s go to the video tape again and this time it was a grain of sand that moved. Anna Nordqvist was hitting her approach shot on the 2nd playoff hole from a fairway bunker as she competed with Brittany Lang for the championship. It took a very close HD picture to even see it happen.  Certainly not visible to the naked eye. Yes it was a violation and a 2 stroke penalty. Nordqvist was told of the infraction and 2 stroke penalty after she hit her third shot on 18. The USGA official then went over to Lang to tell her what had happened. Lang had yet to hit her 3rd shot. Lang went and then changed clubs. She won the hole and the Championship after the 3 hole aggregate playoff.

The Aberdeen Asset Management’s Scottish Open was plagued with high winds and rain but Alexander Noren was not deterred. After battling injuries over the last couple of years, he has took home the trophy for his 5th European Tour victory.

LECOM Health Challenge was the Web.com tour event in New York State. Rich Lamb coming through the Monday Qualifier chipped in for birdie on the 2nd playoff hole to beat 3 others and get his first Tour check. He shot a 63 on Sunday to get into the playoff.

Paul Goydos won the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open on the Champions Tour

And a Goodbye  ..

To Se Ri Pak as she has played her last competitive round in the United States on Friday. Dealing with injuries has finally caused Pak to retire from the LPGA. It was a pleasure to watch her play and compete for 18 years.
