No one played better at the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational in Akron OH than Shane Lowry. He shot a 66 on Sunday to post a -11 total for a 2 stroke win over Bubba Watson. The win gives him a 3 year PGA Tour exemption. The two 3rd round leaders (Rose & Furyk) both played to 2 over for a tie for 3rd place.

PGA Tour: The others tour golfers were at Reno NV for the Barracuda Championship. This is the event that is played under the modified Stableford scoring system. JJ Henry and Kyle Reifers tied on Sunday at 241 points. Henry then sank a 16 foot eagle putt on the 2nd playoff hole for the win. It was his 2nd win at the tournament in the last 4 years (2012).

Web.com Tour: The event was the Digital Ally Open played in Overland Park KS. A tournament record setting -26 was put up by the winner – Martin Pillar. This was Pillar’s 2nd win on the season on the tour.  (Last name sound familiar? LPGA star Gerina Pillar is his wife.)

Champions Tour: The seniors were across the border in Calgary, Alberta for the Shaw Charity Classic. It was a runaway 4 stroke victory for Jeff Maggert.

The LPGA, Symetra and European Tours all had the week off.
